How do I sign up my child for an audition?
It's easy! Simply complete our audition sign-up form. Within one business day, you will receive e-mail instructions on how to record and submit your child's online audition.
My child was in PCC during the 2019-2020 season. Do we need to complete an audition?
No. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are excited to welcome all of our current singers to continue as members of our PCC family. For singers interested in Ensemble (Grades 6-8), Young Singers (Grades 9-12), or Ambassadors (Grades 7-12), there will be a separate in-person audition process conducted in late August.
My email instructions didn't include anything about online auditions. Why is this?
Unless there is a mistake on our end, it's because your child is entering 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we opted to not require submitted auditions for new singers in Grades 1-3. For singers of that age, all you need to join the Pensacola Children's Chorus is complete the sign up form!
My child wants to audition for one of the advanced choirs. How do we audition?
Singers who are interested in joining our advanced choirs (Ensemble, Grades 6-8; Young Singers, Grades 9-12; Ambassadors, Grades 7-12) will complete an in-person audition in late August.
Does my child need to prepare anything for their online audition?
Nope! PCC's audition process seeks to evaluate a child's vocal and listening skills. A knowledge of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" is helpful as well, as that song is a central component of the audition. For a better idea of how it will go, click here.
How will I conduct an online audition?
You will need access to a recording device with a reliable microphone. Any smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer should suffice. After you complete the sign-up form, you will receive an e-mail with detailed instructions on how to successfully record and submit your child's audition. Your child may attempt as many "practice auditions" as they'd like. For an idea of how it will go, click here.
How do I submit my child's recording?
You can e-mail it to or submit it online here.
What choir will my child be placed in?
Your child's choir placement is determined through a combination of age, voice type, musical aptitude, and movement skills. After your child's audition you will receive an acceptance letter which states your child's assigned choir via email. For information on our specific choirs, click here.
If my child hasn't received an acceptance letter, does that mean they didn't pass their audition?
Absolutely not. We will communicate with you regardless of your child's acceptance status or choir placement. In all likelihood, your acceptance letter was marked as spam. Please check your junk mailbox or call Bekki Youngblood, Program Manager, at (850) 434-7760 to ensure that we have the correct email listed for you.
Is there a cost to audition?
There is no cost to audition. However, by signing up for an audition, we expect that you intend to enroll your child in our program. All singers pay a one-time registration fee and monthly tuition. These fees vary by choir, and more information can be found here.

What if I'm unsure if I can afford your program?
