Pie in the Face

Hello PCC Family!

 

Happy Holidays! Yes, we’ve made it to the holiday season of 2020. It comes as no surprise that this year has been full of many plot twists and curveballs. In a typical November, we would be gearing up for summer tours by selling coffee and poinsettias. Nevertheless, in this especially important Season of Giving, we hope that you will partner with us in a special fundraising opportunity.

 

This month, we ask that you help us in an online Facebook fundraising campaign to benefit the Pensacola Children’s Chorus. To “sweeten” the deal, the child/family who raises the most money will get to select a PCC instructor of their choice to PIE IN THE FACE on stage during rehearsals for Christmas on the Coast!

 

All funds raised between November 9 - December 1 will directly support the programs of the Pensacola Children’s Chorus, perhaps to purchase the latest costume or support a family with financial need. Especially considering the financial uncertainty this year has brought, these fundraisers take on an entirely new meaning for our program. Every dollar raised will directly support our mission of using music to instill lifelong lessons in responsibility, accountability, teamwork, confidence, and empathy in each of our singers, including your own!

 

Below are step-by-step instructions on how to participate in this fundraiser on Facebook. If you have any questions, Ms. Mallory (mallory@pensacolachildrenschorus.com) will be happy to help!

How to create a fundraiser for PCC on Facebook:

Step 1 – Locate PCC’s Facebook page by typing “Pensacola Children’s Chorus” in the search bar. Once there, click “Fundraisers” in the horizontal menu underneath the PCC logo. From there, look to the right to the “Create a Fundraiser” block and clock “Raise Money.”

 

Step 2 – Create your fundraiser! On the left-hand side of your screen, Facebook will ask the following questions:

  • How much money do you want to raise? We suggest a goal of $200, but any goal is welcome!

  • Select currency. US Dollars are preferred, but we’re not that picky.

  • When should your fundraiser end? Please enter December 1, 2020 (though if you’re on a roll, you can certainly extend it!)

  • What’s the title of your fundraiser? Here, Facebook will auto-populate with “(your name)’s fundraiser for Pensacola Children’s Chorus”. Use the auto generated name or change it to your family’s name, your child’s name – whatever you’re comfortable using publicly.

  • Why are you raising money? Here, Facebook will auto-populate an “ask” that will work beautifully. If you’d like to use an alternate text specific to this fundraiser, we’ve included that below for your copy-and-paste pleasure.

  • Cover Photo. Please upload the cover photo that is attached.

 

Step 3 – Publish your fundraiser! Once you’ve entered all the details, simply hit “Create.”

 

Step 4 – Share your fundraiser with your family and friends on Facebook. Please note that while Facebook fundraisers are public, only registered users can donate. Nevertheless, Facebook does not charge the donor nor PCC any fees, so PCC will get to retain 100% of funds raised! If you have a friend or family member who is not on Facebook but would like to donate, please contact the PCC office at (850) 434-7760.

If we raise the most money, [Child’s First Name] will be able to choose a PCC instructor to pie in the face during rehearsals for Christmas on the Coast!!

With each dollar, you are supporting the arts in Pensacola. All funds raised will directly support PCC’s programs which aim at inspiring and transforming the lives of young people in our community through music and performance. Every penny counts, and no amount is too small!
