Pensacola, Fla. – December 2025 – The Pensacola Children’s Chorus (PCC) invites the community to slip behind the curtain and into the captivating world of OVATION: Speakeasy at the Saenger on Thursday, January 30, 2026. This enchanting evening promises to transform the historic and beloved Saenger Theatre into an elegant speakeasy, complete with jazz, craft cocktails and behind the scenes magic.

“We’re creating an atmosphere where the glitz of the stage meets the secrets of the speakeasy,” Alex Gartner, PCC’s Artistic and Executive Director, said. “Our guests will experience the Saenger like only the insiders do—wandering backstage, discovering hidden corners and becoming part of the theatrical magic that makes this venue so special.”

The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. with sultry cocktails and decadent charcuterie in the theater’s lobby, setting the scene for a night unlike any other. At 7:00 p.m., guests will be treated to a one-night-only musical showcase by the talented young voices of PCC, followed by a live auction featuring exclusive experiences and artisanal treasures.

The real intrigue begins at 7:45 p.m. when guests dine and sip beneath the stage lights, where gourmet fare and signature drinks await. The evening encourages exploration throughout the theater’s most exclusive spaces, offering an immersive experience that blends the elegance of fine dining with the excitement of theatrical discovery.

“This event embodies everything we love about the performing arts—the community, the artistry and the transformative power of music,” Gartner explained. “When our supporters step into this speakeasy atmosphere, they’re not just attending a fundraiser; they’re becoming part of the story we’re telling about the importance of arts education.”

All proceeds from OVATION will support sustaining the PCC’s core mission, helping bring the power of music to children navigating life’s toughest challenges. Last year’s OVATION gala (runner-up Best Charity Event in Inweekly’s Best of the Coast competition) raised over $100,000, and PCC aims to surpass that milestone with this year’s speakeasy celebration.
