Dueling Pianos and Italian Cuisine Blend During PCC’s Final “Ital-iano” Fundraiser

Updated: Jan 23

Pensacola, Fla. – September 2023 – The Pensacola Children’s Chorus (PCC) invites members of the community to take a journey to sun-kissed Italy on Friday, October 13, for its final “Ital-iano” fundraiser which benefits PCC’s Tuition Assistance program.

The event will start at 6:00 pm with a cocktail hour featuring a larger-than-life charcuterie board by Olive to Nosh! Our Ensemble and Young Singers groups will perform a Patriotic Medley as well as an excerpt from the upcoming Hauncert, a family-friendly Halloween themed concert premiering October 28, 2023.

In between bites of nostalgic Italian cuisine, prepared by Chef Bob Vaningan of Olive Catering, guests will be invited to sing and dance along with dueling pianists and enjoy a featured performance by seasoned members of the Pensacola Children’s Chorus. Family-style food, fine wine, and fragrant roses will transport attendees to a rustic Tuscan countryside. The event will feature a Live Auction and Chance Drawing portion for your opportunity to take home something fabulous—including a trip to Italy!

“It’s like Amalfi Coast meets Apple Annie’s,” Alex Gartner, PCC’s Artistic and Executive Director, said. “The food is incredible, the ambiance is rustic, and the entertainment raucous… or at least it can be!”

The proceeds from Ital-iano help meet PCC’s annual commitment to raise $40,000 in tuition assistance scholarships for singers with significant financial need. “Our Triple-A Commitment establishes $15 as the lowest monthly tuition for each program,” Gartner said. “Due to overwhelming response, we exceeded our annual goal to over $46,000 in tuition assistance scholarships. We did so joyfully because we know that every child deserves access to transformation music experiences regardless of financial need. With a successful event, we’ll do that again this year!”
